How to stay active over the festive season
The festive season is tricky when it comes to staying fit.
Among the various cheat meals, having little time available among a thousand commitments, extra pounds are lurking. But it is possible to stay active and fit during this time of year. Let's see how fit!
Stay motivated, even in the festive season
The first watchword during the holidays to stay active is: stay motivated! Unfortunately, the general approach to the holiday season is basically inconvenient for those who want to stay active and fit.
A general suspension of physical activity in the gym is lightly justified, assuming the closure of the same during this period.
When you consider the various commitments, including dinners, Christmas shopping, decorations, etc., the excuse for not working out is even more plausible.
But, if you want to be able to keep fit, even at this time of year, motivation must always be high! And it must come mostly from you.
For this reason, plan your sports activities well in advance for the festive season, to be able to carve out time (even just 1 hour three times a week), to go to the gym or simply for a walk. If the gyms were to be closed, you can very well train from home too.
Two golden rules to follow to stay active even during the festive season
Here are two important rules to follow to stay active even during the holidays. So, small tricks are enough to not find yourself fat during the holidays. And remember another fundamental rule is that you don't get fat from Christmas to New Year's but, usually, the opposite happens!
In addition to staying active, keep your metabolism active too
Keeping the body active thanks to physical movement means having an efficient metabolism, capable of burning excess calories, eliminating toxins, and lowering "bad" cholesterol.
Muscles, if trained consistently, need to be nourished and this request causes an increase in the availability of daily calories.
Thus, increasing energy expenditure through physical activity is an essential compensation for keeping the basal metabolism always active and sitting at the table without major sacrifices.
While paying attention to the quality of the food, the genuineness of the dishes and the balance of nutrients, holiday meals are unfortunately rich in fat and sugar, savory and better seasoned than normal ones. The first reaction of the body to a greater intake of food and drink is the retention of interstitial liquids. And we must avoid all this!
Consistency
Be constant and consistent in practicing physical activity, wherever you are and more than ever at this time of the year.
A concentrate of Parties, events, exchanges, meetings, sharing around a laden table as in the December-January period should make you think. The resulting accumulation of calories and toxins is the main reason for giving continuity and regularity to the practice of one's physical activity.
To sum up, here you are all staying active during festive season benefits:
