First step: do a self-analysis
We've reached the end of 2022. Have you thought about your new year goals yet? What goals would you like to achieve at work and in the private sphere?
Planning and motivation are also important for setting goals for the new year and doing it in the best way. It takes method, grit, and perseverance. But first of all, we need to do a self-examination in which we will try to understand which objectives have not been achieved, for which reasons, where we felt less motivated and, above all, what you can do to improve the deficient aspects. Without proper self-analysis you cannot set new goals.
Second step: follow the goal setting rules
Here are some tips to better set your smart goals. One of these is to plan, after careful self-analysis, all the goals you want to achieve and respect all the rules of goal setting.
The "goal setting" system allows you to hit the target in 22% of cases more than those who don't. There are obviously criteria to be respected. First, you must be very clear and sincere with yourself by focusing on what you really want to achieve. The objectives, therefore, must be specific and circumscribed. Furthermore, they must be easily measurable to monitor small, or large progress and understand if the direction you are following is the right one. It's good to "give yourself a prize" every time you take one step closer to your goal: it helps keep motivation high and give yourself the right recognition.
Third step: never be in a hurry
In the workplace, to achieve the professional, social or money goals that are close to our hearts, let us remember to give ourselves precise times: the preparation phase for the challenge must have a limited timing, it cannot go on indefinitely, otherwise there is only the risk of losing precious moments and procrastinating. It is useless to point to the moon and stop at the finger: a small daily action that represents a substantial change in one's work routine is better than having big resolutions which are then disregarded. Try to deconstruct the goal you have set for yourself in progressive intermediate steps. Finally, focus on one goal at a time: it is important not to waste precious energy and concentration.
Fourth step: use a motivational agenda
In short, to change the course of our lives, in study, work, relationships and in any sphere, we desire, to achieve goals for the new year we need to get moving. On certain days it's not always easy: that's why we need someone or something who can give us the right energy to face our challenges in the best way and never lose sight of them. A motivational agenda or a life planner really has many tools that help in this sense, such as spheres of influence and emotional maps, just to name a few. But above all they will help you to organize yourself better!
